HORMONE THERAPY FOR MEN

Bio-Identical Hormone Pellet Therapy for Men

Men begin losing testosterone at the rate of 1-3% per year beginning at age 30. Current medical research now defines a male equivalent to menopause as Andropause. Because the testosterone used is totally natural, it is ideal for men wanting the benefits of a bio-identical hormone, without the drawbacks of a synthetic.

Symptoms of testosterone deficiency in men includes:

  • fatigue
  • lack of mental acuity
  • loss of libido or difficulty achieving
  • sustaining an erection.

Why Bio-identical Hormone pellet therapy for men? Hormonal needs for men have received national attention, but with marginal treatment options available. Hormonal treatments for men can be expensive, require daily consumption, and in many cases, need to be carefully timed with their partner's needs for normal sexual activities and pleasure.

Bio-identical hormone pellet therapy is the only method of testosterone levels throughout the day, for 4 to 6 months, without any "roller coaster" blood levels of testosterone, which can result in mood and energy fluctuations for the patient.

BioTE® Medical has had excellent results in treating men with Bio-identical Hormone therapy. There have been only a few reported side effects.

Men find themselves lacking in sexual desire, gaining weight, losing muscle mass and feeling sluggish, depressed and irritable. Yet, they believe they must endure these body and hormonal changes as part of aging.

What Is Andropause?

We’ve all heard of menopause; that dreaded time of life for women when they feel like something or someone else has taken over their bodies. What about the guys? Do any of these sound familiar……mental fog/forgetfulness, decreased clarity and focus, mood swings, irritability, anxiety, depression, sleep disturbances, extreme fatigue (especially in the afternoon), just to name a few! Men do not typically lose their sex drive, so don’t use that as a marker for hormone balance.

What about middle age belly fat? “Low T” increases cortisol and insulin levels, which increases fat and the risk of type 2 diabetes. Men with “Low T” are 3 times more likely to get Alzheimer’s and women are at an even higher risk. Studies show men over 55 with Low T demonstrated significant increase in coronary artery disease, high cholesterol and heart attacks. Testosterone builds bone by up to 8.3% per year, preventing and reversing osteopenia and osteoporosis.

Often, when patients seek help from their primary practitioners, they are band-aided with antidepressants, sleeping and anti-anxiety pills and a host of other medications. These drugs have side effects such as weight gain, “zombie like” state, dependency for sleep, decreased sex drive and so forth, not a good remedy! Furthermore, they do not address the root problem that is causing the complaints!

If you feel “off,” pay attention to how you feel and think twice about filling the prescriptions given to quell symptoms if previous labs show “your hormones are normal.” What is “normal” for the average population in your age group may not be “normal,” or optimal, for you.

So how can I find out if my hormones are out of whack? First of all, make an appointment with Dr. Mitchell. He will sit down with you, listen to you and help you understand what is happening during this time in your life and how to best address it.

DR. MITCHELL CAN TREAT YOUR SYMPTOMS, WHETHER IT’S FATIGUE, LOSS OF LIBIDO, OR DEPRESSION.
